The SF type flotation machine is a key flotation equipment widely used in the beneficiation of non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals and non-metallic minerals. It has three functions: self-priming air, self-priming slurry and flotation. It does not require an additional froth pump and can form an independent flotation circuit. It is particularly suitable for the flotation of medium and coarse-grained minerals and is widely used in small and medium-sized concentrators.
Working Principle

The SF-type flotation machine uses an electric motor to drive the impeller to rotate at high speed, creating a negative pressure zone within the impeller cavity, thus achieving self-aspiration and self-slurry intake. The slurry enters the mixing zone from the bottom and middle of the tank through the upper and lower suction ports of the impeller. Simultaneously, air is drawn into the upper impeller cavity through the suction pipe and the central cylinder, thoroughly mixing with the slurry to form numerous fine bubbles. Under the action of the stator and turbulence plates, the bubbles are uniformly dispersed across the tank cross-section, and mineral particles selectively adhere to the bubble surface, forming mineralized bubbles that float to the froth layer and are scraped off by the scraper to become the concentrate product. The unmineralized slurry then enters the next tank for further processing through the circulation holes or the middlings box, achieving multi-stage continuous flotation.
Product Structure

The SF-type flotation machine mainly consists of the following components:
- Tank: Forward-inclined U-shaped or stepped design to reduce dead zones and promote slurry circulation.
- Impeller and Main Shaft: Impeller with backward-inclined double-sided blades to achieve dual circulation of slurry; main shaft connects to the motor drive system.
- Cover Plate and Guide Device: Works in conjunction with the impeller to stabilize the flow and guide the slurry flow.
- Motor and Drive System: Typically uses V-belt drive to drive the impeller.
- Scraper Device: Used to scrape frothy concentrate; can be configured on one or both sides.
- False Bottom and Guide Pipe (equipped when volume > 10m³): Optimizes the internal flow field and improves separation efficiency.
Product Advantages
1. Strong Self-Aspiration Capacity: Features both self-aspiration of air and slurry, eliminating the need for external aeration equipment or foam pumps, simplifying the process.
2. Low Energy Consumption: Low impeller circumferential speed reduces power consumption by 15%–25% compared to traditional models, resulting in significant energy savings.
3. Compact Structure and Easy Configuration: Horizontal layout allows for flexible process changes, suitable for various process layouts.
4. Reasonable Slurry Circulation: Dual-circulation design effectively prevents coarse particle sedimentation, facilitating coarse mineral flotation.
5. Long Lifespan of Wear Parts: Larger gap between the impeller and cover plate minimizes the impact of wear on air intake. Core components utilize high-polymer composite materials, extending lifespan by more than double.
6. Convenient Operation and Maintenance: Stable liquid level; equipped with an automatic control system for real-time monitoring of slurry concentration and parameter adjustment; easy maintenance; impeller replacement requires no disassembly of the entire machine.
