A centrifugal concentrator is a high-efficiency gravity separation device for recovering fine and micro-fine gold particles. It is widely used in placer gold mines, lode gold mines, and tailings reprocessing. It enhances mineral separation through the centrifugal force field generated by high-speed rotation and combines it with a backwash water system to achieve a high recovery rate of micro-fine gold particles. It is an ideal, environmentally friendly device to replace traditional mercury plates and sluices in modern mineral processing.
Working Principle

Centrifugal concentrators utilize the density differences of minerals. During high-speed rotation, they generate centrifugal forces tens to hundreds of times greater than gravity, causing high-density gold particles to rapidly move towards and deposit on the inner wall of the drum, while low-density gangue is carried out by the backwash water flow as tailings.
The key lies in its "water-jacket" structure: a closed water jacket is installed between the inner and outer layers of the drum. Pressurized water (0.03–0.06 MPa) is injected through a hollow shaft, and a backwash water film is formed by jets from small holes in the inner layer. This water flow direction is opposite to the centrifugal force, preventing ore bed compaction and maintaining a loose bed state, thus significantly improving the recovery efficiency of fine gold.
The equipment is suitable for recovering single gold particles with a diameter ≥0.02 mm, with recovery rates generally exceeding 95%, and even reaching 99% under certain operating conditions.
Product Structure

The centrifugal concentrators mainly consist of the following components:
- Feed Pipe: Evenly introduces the slurry into the beneficiation unit.
- Drive Motor and Vertical Shaft: Provides power to drive the drum at high speed.
- Double-Layer Drum (Beneficiation Unit):
- The inner layer is a stainless steel cone with annular grids and multiple small holes in the wall.
- The outer layer is a common steel plate, forming a closed water jacket with the inner layer.
- Hollow Drive Shaft: Also used to transport pressurized water to the water jacket.
- Tailings Tank and Concentrate Discharge Outlet: Discharges light minerals and enriched heavy concentrate, respectively.
- Frame and Control System: Supports the entire machine; some models are equipped with PLC intelligent control for automatic slurry discharge.
Product Advantages
- High recovery rate: The recovery rate of fine gold particles (<0.074mm) reaches over 95%, and can reach 99% under certain conditions.
- High processing capacity: A single unit can process 50–200 tons of slurry per day, 3–5 times more efficient than traditional shaking tables.
- Energy saving and environmental protection:
- No chemical reagents required, pollution-free throughout the entire process;
- Unit processing energy consumption as low as 0.8–1.2 kWh/ton, energy saving of 30%–50%;
- Easy operation and maintenance: Supports fully automatic operation, some models have an automatic ore discharge function, reducing manual intervention.
- High adaptability: Can process complex ores with a mud content of up to 30%, suitable for various scenarios such as placer gold, lode gold, and tailings.
- Small footprint: Compact structure, easy to install in mobile or modular mineral processing systems.
