Gold Gravity Separation Process

Gold gravity separation beneficiation technology utilizes the density difference between gold and gangue (gold density 19.3 g/cm³, gangue 2.6-3.0 g/cm³) to achieve separation through a gravity field. It is suitable for the efficient recovery of coarse-grained gold, free gold, and simple ores.
Core Process Principle
Based on the density difference of minerals, under the influence of gravity, gold-bearing heavy minerals settle faster in a moving medium (water, air), achieving stratified separation from the less dense gangue minerals. The core of the process is to create a stable gravity field environment, amplifying the motion difference caused by the density difference and improving the separation accuracy.

Gold Gravity Separation Process
1. Pretreatment
Gold-bearing ore is crushed to 10-20mm, then regrinded to 0.074mm, with a particle size distribution of 60%-80%, ensuring the liberation of individual gold minerals and preventing gangue encapsulation.
2. Grading and Feeding
Through screening and hydrocyclone classification, slurries of different particle sizes are fed into corresponding gravity separation equipment to avoid particle size differences affecting separation.
3. Gravity Separation
Equipment is selected based on the ore particle size and properties to complete the initial separation of gold from gangue.
4. Concentrate Purification
The heavy minerals (gold-bearing) obtained from the roughing process are scrubbed, gravity separated, or floated to remove residual gangue, yielding a high-grade gold concentrate.
5. Tailings Treatment
After inspection and screening, qualified tailings are discarded, while coarse tailings are returned to the grinding process for reprocessing.
