Gold Mineral Processing Technology

The processing technology for placer gold minerals centers on "physical separation," utilizing the density difference between gold and gangue. It recovers free placer gold through a process of "washing and desliming - classification - gravity separation - fine refining and purification." This process is characterized by its simplicity, environmental friendliness, low consumption, and controllable costs, making it suitable for large-scale development of placer gold deposits (alluvial/proluvial).

Core Process Principle

Placer gold is mostly free native gold, with a density (19.3 g/cm³) much higher than that of gangue minerals (2.6-3.0 g/cm³) and silt. The core of the process is to remove impurities through water washing and classification screening, then use a gravity field (natural gravity or centrifugal force) to allow the placer gold to settle rapidly, separating it from the low-density gangue and silt, ultimately purifying it to obtain the finished gold product.

Standard Process Flow

1. Raw Material Pretreatment (Washing and Desliming)

Removing clay and silt from placer gold deposits to prevent mud formation and equipment blockage, ensuring gold particle liberation.

2. Grading and Screening

Grading by particle size to avoid mixing of coarse and fine particles affecting separation efficiency.

3. Gravity Separation (Core Step)

Utilizing density differences to achieve preliminary separation of placer gold from gangue, enriching the placer gold.

4. Fine Refining and Purification

Removing residual gangue and heavy minerals (such as magnetite and hematite) from the enriched product to obtain high-purity gold.

5. Tailings Treatment

The separated tailings are settled in a sedimentation tank. The clean water is recycled for washing (saving over 60% of water). The slag can be used for road paving or backfilling of mined-out areas, achieving an environmentally friendly closed loop.
